Publication Design

This publication design explores the tension between freedom and pressure within creative work, inspired by an article examining the experiences of young middle class women in China. The project investigates how creativity can be both empowering and demanding, encouraging individuality, ambition, and self expression while also creating instability and constant expectation.

Using a black and white visual language, the design emphasises contrast and restraint to reflect the emotional and social pressures tied to modern creative work culture. The final outcome aims to communicate the complexity of creativity as something that inspires people while simultaneously placing them under continuous pressure to produce and succeed.
